Metal Roof & Gutter Replacement in Crossville

After 20 years, the metal roof on this Cumberland County home had reached the end. Leaks kept showing up and the past D-I-Y patches were no longer stopping them.

The owners liked the look of standing seam, so we kept that style and upgraded the system with 26 ga panels in Bronze that are a perfect fit with the home’s neutral colors.

With the new roof going on, the owner chose to also replace the white with new bronze gutters topped with EcoGuard Gutter Guard so the whole system moves water the right way.

There was a full layer of asphalt shingles beneath the metal, and passing rain slowed a few steps. Even with those small hiccups, jobs like this typically take two days or less.

You can see the project step-by-step in the photos. The before shots show the gray metal with hips and valleys and the service-mast lines coming through the slope. One close-up frames a tarred valley that never sealed right. During the tear-off you can see wood purlins over worn shingles. As we move into the install phase, the deck repairs are in place and the blue high-temp underlayment runs along the ridge and fields. Bronze standing seam panels sit flat and tight, with ridge, valley, and wall flashings locked together. Matching bronze gutters and guards finish the eaves. From the yard, the roof pairs well with the yellow siding and dark trim, the garden beds, and the simple ranch lines. It looks great, drains better, and stops the leaks that started this job.

The finished look fits the home’s country setting and adds a neat, buttoned-up look to the property.

“Our old metal roof was a disaster, screws not holding, installed wrong, had old shingles still under it and definitely was ready for a replacement. John came out and went over our options, had plenty of samples to show us and was able to give us a quote which we did go with. Both John and Brad kept in contact with us on every detail. Our home gave Brad a few hiccups but he was able to go with the punches and make adjustments as needed. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the finished product. We would highly recommend Smith’s Roofing. Very knowledgeable and professional in every detail.”
