For most East Tennessee homes, we recommend installing 6-inch gutters. The larger gutters can handle approximately 44% more water volume than 5-inch gutters. For this reason, we install 6-inch gutters on nearly all of our projects, with the only exception being when an insurance claim requires a size match and 5-inch gutters are currently in place.

It’s also helpful to know that both standard and oversized downspout options are available. For 6-inch gutters, we typically use larger 3″x4″ downspouts for better drainage. We also offer 4-inch round downspouts, which increase water flow even further while adding a stylish, upgraded look.
