New Siding and Gutters in Sevierville
This Sevierville TN home needed a siding update. The old vinyl was looking dated. It had become brittle and wavy with age and had developed numerous cracks and holes from damage over the years. The homeowner decided to give Smith Roofing & Exteriors a call. After a thorough inspection, the homeowner, with the help of their inspector, decided to move forward with the makeover. They chose to stay with vinyl but opted for an upgrade to Mastic vinyl siding for its durability, good looks, strong warranty, and budget-friendly price. They chose a dark Caribou Brown with the look of wood but almost none of the maintenance.
On the larger area, we installed Mastic double 4.5″ dutch-lap siding. The double dutch-lap, with its slightly shorter height than usual vinyl, helps trick the eye into thinking the home looks larger without adding too much visual texture. To add subtle visual interest, we installed Foundry 7 inch shake siding from around the entryway area and on the gables at the ends of the house. It really pulled the whole look together.
But before installing anything, we, of course, made all needed repairs to the walls underneath, replacing any rotten boards with new OSB and installing house wrap to help improve energy efficiency and reduce electric bills. The home also received new soffits and fascia in the same brown as the siding. And to make sure everything matched, we updated the old white gutters with new oversize 6 inch gutters in a dark Royal Brown color.
The home now looks both modern and traditional, with minimal maintenance and durability for years to come.
