    Deck Rebuild in West Knoxville, TN

    This West Knoxville home was really needing a deck upgrade. The homeowner wanted to rebuild an aging deck that had structural issues and worn boards. The new design called for a stronger frame, better materials, and more usable space. The final deck includes both open and screened areas, giving the space functionality year-round.

    The new deck was rebuilt from the ground up with new larger, concrete footers, stronger 6×6 posts, and pressure-treated framing. For the main area, the homeowner chose composite decking from Deckorators in the color Saltwater and paired with Dark Slate fascia and stair risers for contrast. The railing combines black powder coated aluminum balusters with natural wood framing for a clean look that matches the deck’s style.

    The new covered section features a gable roof with a vaulted ceiling finished in white vinyl soffit and trim. Next we installed a ScreenEze system to keep mosquitos at bay. Inside, we brought in electrical to power a ceiling fan and outlet for comfort and convenience. The roof is topped off in Weathered Wood colored Owens Corning architectural shingles matching the home’s existing roof.

    The rebuild also included repairs to siding and sheathing where water had caused damage beneath the old deck around the entry door. With proper flashing and wrap installed, the under-deck area now stays dry and usable for storage. The project passed all of Farragut’s structural inspections.

    The finished deck is larger, safer, and more functional… a major improvement that adds lasting value and a space the family can enjoy in every season.
